Antalya is located in the southwest corner of Turkey, and the population is around 2 million compared with 76 million in habitants in all of Turkey. Antalya is an important destination in Turkey and is called the capital of tourism there—at least, Antalya is the largest with respect to tourist bed supply. Other important tourist destinations in Turkey are Istanbul (historical and cultural), Cappadocia (historical and natural), and Muğla (leisure tourism and natural attractions). As a major coastal mass tourism destination, Antalya received 12.5 million tourist arrivals, or 30% of Turkey’s 41.4 million inbound arrivals from abroad in 2014. According to the World Tourism Organization, Turkey is sixth in the world’s top tourism destinations in 2013 and 2014.
