Transportation and Infrastructure Issues in the Developing World

A successful tourism industry requires efficient transportation and adequate infrastructure. With increasing demand for tourism from both tourists and service providers, issues surrounding transportation and infrastructure move to the forefront. This discourse is timely even in the developing world, where accessibility, safety, and luxury services are deemed necessary in the tourism industry. Much of the developing world is moving to catch up with the developed world in fulfilling the demands of tourists. As tourism development unfolds, there is a need to understand the challenges and opportunities of tourism infrastructure.
