Tourism Ethics and Codes of Conduct

In the tourism industry, coordinating governmental agencies, local and regional tourism associations, travel agents, tour operators, airlines, cruise and rail network operators, and hotel, resort, and event management corporations is not an easy task due to often contradicting objectives and socioeconomic and environmental impacts. This entry reviews the changing context that led to the development of international codes of conduct for the tourism industry.
