Ski Tourism, Europe

Ski tourism encompasses businesses and travelers oriented toward skiing and other snow sports as the core activity. Skiing can be practiced on terrain developed as simple recreational ski areas with one or two mechanical lifts, on designated cross-country/ski-touring tracks, or at purpose-built resorts. The latter is usually positioned as the destination itself and is equipped with many other non-ski facilities and amenities in order to cater to a wider tourist segment than just snow sports enthusiasts.
