The Rural Poverty Research Center (RPRC), Columbia, Missouri, is expanding research on rural poverty. The RPRC, which seeks to expand interest in collaborative rural poverty research and encourage related funding, sponsored a conference in 2004 to identify a research agenda. The RPRC at The Rural Policy Research Institute (RUPRI; http://www.rupri.org/) provides unbiased analysis and information on the challenges, needs, and opportunities facing rural America. The main aim of RUPRI is to help public policymakers and make them understand the problems of rural areas.
