Rebuilding Together

When a community pulls together to make a difference in low-income communities, it takes a concerted effort to recruit, organize, and dispatch a volunteer workforce. Rebuilding Together focuses on projects designed to revitalize communities impacted by changing economies for the families that live and work in low-income areas. The people most likely to need assistance are the elderly, disabled individuals, families with children, veterans and military families, and families affected by disasters. The basic premise of Rebuilding Together is what helped the organization move beyond its beginnings as a grassroots movement in 1973. The premise is simple: neighbors helping neighbors.
