International Food Policy Research Institute

The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) is an international research center that seeks sustainable solutions for ending hunger and poverty. Established in 1975, the IFPRI is one of the 15 centers of the Consortium Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), a global partnership that unites organizations engaged in research for a food-secure future. The IFPRI was born out of a global food crisis in the early 1970s that resulted in a large increase in food prices. The institute’s vision is a world free of hunger and malnutrition, and its mission is to provide research-based policy solutions that sustainably reduce poverty and end hunger and malnutrition.
