Environmentalism, Corporate

There are different reasons for the growing interest of companies in environmental matters. One is the increasing scope of activities in companies operating in the 21st century in terms of geographical coverage, selection of offered products and services, and number of customers. Thus, the environmental diversity of stakeholders located in different places influences the way that business entities operate. Moreover, the diminishing technological barriers of communication offer parties quick and efficient access to information on corporate policies and actions, including environmental policies. Another important determinant is growing competition in almost all spheres of business activities. Companies want their products to be recognized on the market and selected by customers, so they have to pay attention to the socially oriented side of their activities.
