Child Welfare League of America

The Child Welfare League of America (CWLA), the oldest and largest member-based child welfare organization in the United States, was founded in 1920. CWLA is a coalition of hundreds of public and private agencies that assist vulnerable children and their families. Millions of American children do not have the tools for success (that is, adequate housing, health care, nutrition). Three children die every day from maltreatment and more than 2.8 million are involved in reported incidents of abuse and/or neglect.

CWLA’s mission is to lead and engage its member agencies and partners to advance best practices, policies, and strategies in order to improve the lives of children and families.
