Poverty and poor health form a vicious circle as one is deemed to be the effect of the other. Health and lifestyle cannot be isolated from each other as they are inexorably related. Statistics show that there are around 1.2 billion people in the world who are living in conditions of extreme poverty. Because poverty is not uniformly distributed, affecting more people in developing countries than in developed nations, it is difficult to eradicate poverty and its ill effects. However, poor people cannot be categorized solely on the basis of developed or developing countries as there are other factors contributing to poverty.
