Ireland
Ireland is an island in the North Atlantic Ocean that is comprised of Northern Ireland (which is part of the United Kingdom) and Ireland (the Republic of Ireland, or Eire). Northern Ireland has a population of 1,857,423 (2016 estimate), and its capital is Belfast. Northern Ireland is located in the northeastern area of the island and shares a southern border with the Republic of Ireland. The Republic of Ireland occupies four-fifths of the island and has a population of 4,609,600 (2014 estimate); its capital is Dublin.
