Blogs

The term blog is an abbreviated form of the word weblog, which came into common parlance during the mid- to late 1990s. The basic function of a weblog, or blog, as the word suggests, is to chronicle, log, or discuss myriad topics in a timely manner on the World Wide Web. Two specifically themed blogs relevant to the lives of soldiers, veterans, and their families are milblogs and warblogs. These blogs focus on content that relates to members of the military on the front lines of combat as well as those who are veterans, and typically reports on information and events that are neglected by U.S. news.
