Zimbabwe

The Republic of Zimbabwe is a landlocked country in southern Africa located between the Zambezi and Limpopo rivers and bordered by South Africa to the south, Botswana to the west, Zambia to the northwest, and Mozambique to the east. Zimbabwe was formerly known as Southern Rhodesia (1898), Rhodesia (1965), and Zimbabwe Rhodesia (1979).

The largest city is the capital, Harare. The country’s east is mountainous, with Mount Nyangani as the highest point with an elevation of 2,592 meters. The Highveld, where most of the major cities are found, is a central plateau with altitudes over 2,100 meters.
