Six-Day War
The Six-Day War was fought between Israel and its neighboring Arab countries of Egypt, Syria, and Jordan between June 5 and 10, 1967. The war was a decisive Israeli military victory over these three Arab armies. In addition, Israel conquered the Sinai Peninsula and Gaza Strip from Egypt, the West Bank and East Jerusalem from Jordan, and the Golan Heights from Syria. One of the shortest conflicts in modern times, the Six-Day War has had a deep and lasting impact on each of the nations involved and on the region as a whole.
