Revenge or vengeance refers to the act of inflicting harm on others following a perceived offense or harm. Feelings of revenge are universal; that is, they occur in all cultures. They are a natural human response to being humiliated, wronged, or offended by others. Acts of revenge may also result from the transgression or violation of societal norms by others.
