Multisystemic therapy(MST) is a structured treatment that uses intensive, home-based family counseling as a method for treating youth with antisocial behaviors. Rooted in social ecology theory, MST treats youth and their families in their natural environments in the home, school, and community. Youth between the ages of 12 and 17 years at risk of out-of-home placement, such as those involved in the juvenile justice system or with child protective services, are the focus of MST.
