The Method of Levels (MOL) is a transdiagnostic cognitive therapy that addresses the dilemmas, tensions, and conflicts underlying symptom patterns rather than focusing on the symptom patterns directly. With its unique theoretical framework, it has similarities with approaches such as motivational interviewing and provides a bridge between cognitive-behavioral therapy and person-centered counseling. MOL optimistically and respectfully provides the time and the focus for people to generate their own solutions to the difficulties they experience.
