Human Validation Process Model

The human validation process (HVP) model is a systemic therapy approach that focuses on family growth and health rather than dysfunction and pathology. This approach facilitates the use of existing strengths and resources within each family member and also considers the role played by the community and other larger systems in the family’s development and growth through time. Change is not only considered possible, it is encouraged. Therapists working from this theory focus on the process of interpersonal interactions, body language, and other nonverbal cues, as well as the content of conversation between family members.
