Therapeutic touch is an approach to treatment that focuses on reducing symptoms that afflict the body and mind. Based on a philosophy that humans are energy-based people who need social interaction, this approach uses a combination of energy work, massage, and narrative therapies to decrease a wide range of symptoms that may be associated with a variety of disorders. Often considered a supportive therapy, therapeutic touch can be incorporated into any therapeutic session coupled with other counseling modalities.
