Weibo

Weibo (in Chinese, literally, “microblog”), or Sina Weibo (its previous name), is a microblogging social network service launched by the Chinese technology company Sina Corporation in 2009. It is the largest microblog network in China as well as among overseas Chinese users. Weibo has a web portal for desktop users and a designated application for mobile devices. In December 2016, Weibo had 313 million active monthly users, approximately equal to that of Twitter, and an average of 139 million daily active users, 90% of whom are connected by mobile devices. The web version of Weibo is one of the most frequently visited websites in China, ranked 9th domestically and 24th globally according to the Alexa ranking in March 2017.
