eBay

eBay is a large e-commerce company that operates in numerous countries around the world. It manages the online person-to-person trading and auction site eBay.com, which sells millions of items each day (with some exceptions, e.g., drugs and alcohol). eBay derives revenues from online advertising, ticket sales, and charging vendors for listing and selling items (a “final value fee”). It is free for buyers. As of 2017, eBay had more than 160 million buyers worldwide and more than 12,000 employees. Its annual revenues in 2016 were nearly US$9 billion. Its headquarters are located in San Jose, California.
