Wikipedia

Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia that provides free and open content to Internet users. The Wikipedia trademark and Internet domain are owned by the nonprofit Wikimedia Foundation (Figure 1). In a fairly short time, Wikipedia has become the largest and most popular general reference work on the Internet. In 2017, it was ranked among the world’s 10 most popular websites. The most important feature of Wikipedia is that it is written collaboratively and openly by a community of experts and nonexperts who call themselves Wikipedians. Wiki is the Hawaiian word for quick, referring to the website design that makes it easy to collaboratively modify both the content and structure of Wikipedia articles.
