WikiLeaks is a not-for-profit journalistic enterprise that publishes secret information, news leaks, and classified media from worldwide digital sources. The organization provides a mechanism for authors to anonymously publish secret corporate and government material to a secure server and to remain anonymous even to the publisher. Its fame comes from the release of hundreds of thousands of documents related to the recent wars in Afghanistan and Iraq as well as thousands of U.S. State Department diplomatic cables in redacted format.
