UFO Surveillance (History, Purpose, Examples)

Unidentified flying objects (UFOs) are anomalies detected within sovereign space. UFOs have a rich history and folklore in relation to detection, investigation, and interception tactics. UFO surveillance has two key purposes. First, the detection of alien intelligences has been of critical interest to scientists, policymakers, and military strategists. Second, the increased use of technologies is intended to secure sovereign borders from penetration by other states and illicit groups. Both of these purposes have intermeshed historically around UFO detection and investigation programs.
