Social media are online tools and services that support creation and sharing of information (text, pictures, sounds, and videos) in virtual communities and networks. Social networking is the most widely used service of social media. Social media belong to Web 2.0; typical examples are blogs, wikis, social networking, and microblogging. Social media are closely related to user-generated content since they constitute the tools through which users create, collaborate, discuss, and share content. They represent significant changes in communications between individuals, communities, and organizations.
