Yale University is one of the oldest and most highly respected universities in the world. Yale was chartered in 1701 in New Haven, Connecticut. The School of Medicine was established in 1810 and has grown to include 27 departments. The medical school is affiliated with a health system that includes the Yale Cancer Center and the Child Study Center, both of which are involved in stem cell research.
