Located in the technological hub of Silicon Valley, Stanford University, located between San Francisco and San Jose, was established as Leland Stanford Junior University in 1891. By 2014, the campus had grown to encompass over 2,000 faculty members and almost 7,000 undergraduate students and 9,000 graduate students. The campus is composed of seven schools in addition to hospitals and clinics.
