Ottawa Hospital Research Institute

A partnership with the University of Ottawa, Ontario, is at the heart of the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI) goals and its interdisciplinary approach to stem cell research and regenerative medicine. OHRI is the research program for the Ottawa Hospital, and its Regenerative Medicine Program is one strategic research priority. Additional major priorities involve neuroscience, cancer therapy, and vision. Practice areas within the Regenerative Medicine Program cover a range of therapeutic topics and include heart disease, lung disease, muscle disorders, multiple sclerosis, vision loss, diabetes, stroke, shock, and cerebrovascular or neurologic injury. The institute aims to use gene and protein research to manipulate stem cells and develop optimal biotherapeutic approaches for numerous diseases.
