Oregon Health & Science University

The Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) is Oregon’s only public academic health center. OHSU traces its origins to 1887, when the first class began studies at the University of Oregon Medical School; it was created in its current form in 1974 when the state dentistry, medicine, and nursing programs were combined. OHSU adopted its current name in 2001 when it merged with the Oregon Graduate Institute of Science and Technology. The main OHSU campus is in Portland, and a second OHSU campus, dedicated to graduate-level science and engineering education, is located in Hillsboro, former location of the Oregon Graduate Institute of Science and Technology.
