Northwestern University, which was established in 1851, is located in Evanston, Illinois, just north of Chicago. A smaller campus is located in Chicago, the site of Northwestern’s Feinberg School of Medicine. A third campus was established in Doha, Qatar, in 2008. A private institution, Northwestern encompasses 12 schools and colleges and is home to the world-renowned Feinberg School of Medicine. The fact that Chicago is a major industrial and technology center means that a wide range of resources are available to Northwestern researchers.
