National Right to Life Committee

The National Right to Life Committee (NRLC) is the country’s oldest and largest pro-life organization. The network is comprised of 50 affiliated state groups and roughly 3,000 community chapters. The group’s mission is to protect and defend the right to human life, ranging from beginning of life to natural death. Particular focus is directed at individuals considered “vulnerable” with limited self-defense mechanisms, including the elderly, the disabled, and children. The group takes the stance that life begins at conception and, therefore, the unborn, too, have a right to life. Based on this platform, NRLC opposes abortion, infanticide, euthanasia, assisted suicide, and embryonic stem cell research, although the organization’s most prominent cause is constitutional ban on abortion.
