Muscle: Current Research on Isolation or Production of Therapeutic Cells

There are three major types of muscle cells in the body, namely cardiac muscle (cardiomyocytes), smooth muscle, and skeletal muscle. There are several diseases associated with these muscle cell types, but the most prominent among them are cardiovascular disease, which affects cardiomyocytes and smooth muscle cells present in blood vessels, and muscular dystrophy, which is a progressive degeneration of skeletal muscle.
