International Society for Stem Cell Research

Founded in 2002, the International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) is a worldwide nonprofit independent organization whose primary purpose is to facilitate sharing of information about stem cell research among professionals and with the public. The organization grew rapidly until it encompassed over 4,100 researchers throughout the world in diverse aspects of stem cell biology. The ISSCR facilitates the exchange of information by holding an annual meeting, publishing a journal and a newsletter, and maintaining a highly informative website. It recognizes and promotes the need for high standards across the range of stem cell technology, research, and related concerns.
