Indiana University is an eight-campus, public research university. The core campuses are Indiana University Bloomington and Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). The main campus of the Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM), with its six research institutes, more than 20 research centers, and various other research groups, is located on the IUPUI campus. The school also includes eight additional campuses affiliated with Indiana University and other Indiana universities. IUSM is the second-largest medical school in the United States.
