Genetically Modified Foods

Genetically modified (GM) foods are foods derived from those organisms whose genetic material (DNA) has been modified by introduction of a gene from a different organism in a way that does not occur naturally. At the moment, GM foods are obtained from plants only, although such foods from animals are also likely to be produced in the near future.
