Dental: Current Research on Isolation or Production of Therapeutic Cells

The ability of stem cells to continuously divide, as well as their ability to give rise to any of the specialized cell types that make up the tissues and organs of the body, make them a potentially powerful tool in the field of regenerative medicine. Stem cell therapy has emerged as a promising solution to a wide range of conditions that result from the loss of or damage to cells of tissue and organs; these include diseases such as diabetes, blindness, paralysis, kidney disease, heart disease, and cancer, to name a few. Recently, there has been increasing research into the potential therapeutic application of stem cells to dentistry.
