Sexuality pertains to intimate life, but it is not solely a private issue. While some may perceive sexuality within the narrow confines of sex, or how we define our sexual orientation, it is actually much broader than this. Sexuality relates to the realms of reproduction, our desires and wants, and the organisation of our sexual relationships. How sexuality is configured across time and space is highly variable; for example, things that are considered highly erotic in our own society would not be similarly positioned in other cultures.
