Ordinary Hollywood movies sometimes have an appearance by God, which, given prevailing beliefs that mass-market movie makers are hostile to established religions, is a provocative claim. But there are many examples and some good reasons why this is the case. Although this entry takes no position on the existence of God, religions, however, do exist and do so metaphors for God in movie houses. That is the subject matter of this entry.
