Creationism and Intelligent Design

In its broadest sense, creationism refers to the belief that a divine entity, such as a God or higher power, created the universe or the earth or both. Many religions have creation stories about how the earth came into existence—for example, Hinduism, Shintoism, and ancient Greek mythology. These deities are often referred to as creator gods.
