Vaillancourt, Jean-Guy

Jean-Guy Vaillancourt (1937–2015) was a Canadian sociologist who specialized in the fields of sociology of religion, environment, and American sociology. Even if his contributions to the sociology of environment are usually more recognized by his peers than any other, he also greatly contributed to the development of sociology of religion in the Province of Québec, where he was a professor for most of his life. Vaillancourt was appreciated around the world by his fellow sociologists of religion for his insightful work in the field.
