Subud is a mystical movement that was founded in the Indonesian archipelago and has since become established in other countries such as Australia, Canada, Japan, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Subud is depicted by its practitioners not as a religion, since it has no doctrines and rituals; people of any religion are allowed to practice it. The values of Subud are focused on three main notions: Susila, Budhi, and Dharma. The first notion designates the nature of human qualities that one should have. The second refers to the superior power within humans’ very essence for guiding action. The third signifies surrender to God’s will.
