WINPEPI

WINPEPI is a suite of freeware programs for personal computers (PCs) that is designed to meet a range of statistical requirements for epidemiologists and biomedical researchers. This entry describes the features, uses, advantages, and disadvantages of WINPEPI.

Background

WINPEPI is an acronym for programs for epidemiologists. An original DOS-based version was adapted for use with Microsoft Windows in the early 2000s (WINPEPI or Pepi-for-Windows). The latest update (version 11.65) was released in 2016. The main author of WINPEPI, Joe Abramson, died in 2017, and there have been no subsequent updates since his death.
