Anti-Feminist Backlash

Anti-feminist backlash is the overt and covert opposition to the ideology that men and women should have equal opportunity and treatment. Feminism as a movement gained traction in the 19th century. Some of the Western privileges that women benefit from today as a result of the feminist movement are the right to vote, greater opportunities to participate in the workforce, variations in the division of household duties, and more diverse educational opportunities.
