Social networking involves the use of dedicated websites, platforms, and applications to connect to and interact with other users. Such networking can be done for purely personal reasons, connecting to friends, family, or others who share strong interests, or for professional reasons. Within the context of politics, networks may be formed based on ideologies or partisan affiliation, or on broader political interests which may be more heterogeneous.
