Novo Nordisk
Novo Nordisk is a global pharmaceutical company that specializes in the treatment of diabetes and hemostasis. It is headquartered in Denmark, with additional offices in 75 countries. The company is the result of a merger between two former competitors, Nordisk Insulinlaboratorium and Novo Terapeutisk Laboratorium.
Origin and Brief History
In 1922, August and Marie Krogh arrived in the United States from Denmark in order for August Krogh to conduct a lecture series in the United States. August Krogh, a professor at the University of Copenhagen, had won the Nobel Prize in physiology in 1920. Researchers at Yale University asked Professor Krogh to lecture throughout the United States about his research findings.
