Fertility Drugs

Fertility medications provide a first treatment option for couples who have trouble conceiving a baby. Millions of women safely become pregnant and deliver healthy babies. There are a number of fertility drugs for both women and men. Most of the common fertility drugs for women stimulate the ovaries to produce multiple eggs, which increases the chance for conception. Other drugs can help prevent premature ovulation during assisted reproductive technology procedures. When the ovaries are stimulated the process is called controlled ovarian hyperstimulation. This process is often used with in vitro fertilization (IVF) and artificial insemination.
