Cost-Effectiveness Research

In recent decades, much attention has been given to comparing costs and health outcomes of interventions in health care and medicine. There is a rapidly growing body of cost-effectiveness data as researchers have been conducting cost-effectiveness studies alongside clinical trials or through the use of decision model techniques. Governments, health care providers, and other institutions use cost-effectiveness data to make decisions on allocation of societal resources for health outcomes. As the field has grown and the data have become more widely accessible, organizations at the national and international levels have launched initiatives to improve the quality and conduct of cost-effectiveness research.
