Canada, in North America, is one of the largest countries in the world. It comprises 3,855,100 square miles, and 3,511,023 square miles of that is land. Canada is divided into 13 jurisdictions, 10 provinces and three territories. Each jurisdiction is responsible for setting up its own guidelines for health care, but it must provide certain minimum requirements as stated in the Canada Health Act if it wishes to receive federal funding. The Canada Health Act does not require any prescription drug coverage, so any coverage provided is left to the discretion of each jurisdiction.
