AstraZeneca

AstraZeneca is a multinational pharmaceutical and biological company. It has its headquarters in London. According to an international ranking of pharmaceutical companies, it was ranked as the seventh-largest pharmaceutical firm in the world in 2012, after Pfizer, Sanofi, Novartis, Merck, Roche, and GlaxoSmithKline. AstraZeneca has established its operations in more than 100 countries throughout the world. Most of the products AstraZeneca makes help in the management of a number of diseases, such as cardiovascular diseases, gastrointestinal infections, neurological conditions, respiratory disorders, and inflammatory conditions. AstraZeneca was formed in 1999 by the merger of two companies: Astra AB, of Sweden, and Zeneca, of the United Kingdom.
