University of Washington

The University of Washington was founded in Seattle, Washington, in 1861, and additional branches have since been established in Tacoma and Bothell. The Department of Pharmacology is located within the School of Medicine. Within the Department of Pharmacology, research is focused on advancing knowledge of the ways in which molecules affect the development and behavior of cells and organisms. Researchers also seek to understand the role that pharmacology plays in combating disease and the human aging process, as well as the impact of drugs on human health and behavior.
